SWAT officers were called Monday morning to a home in Chatham where a man was holding four children, according to preliminary information from the police.
Officers were sent to the scene about 7 a.m. after a report of a violation of order of protection in the 7900 block of South Evans Avenue, authorities said.
Officers were able to get the man to release the children from the residence and only the man remained barricaded inside, according to police.
The standoff was resolved by about 11:30 a.m. and the man was taken to Jackson Park Hospital and Medical Center, police said. There were no injuries reported.
