British singer Tom Parker, an original member of the boy band The Wanted, is battling a brain tumor.
The musician, 32, shared his diagnosis in an Instagram post Monday, writing that he’s already begun treatment.
“We decided, after a lot of thought, that rather than hiding away and trying to keep it a secret, we would do one interview where we could lay out all the details and let everyone know the facts in our own way,” wrote Parker, whose wife is actress Kelsey Hardwick. “We are all absolutely devastated but we are gonna fight this all the way.”
Parker told OK! Magazine that doctors said the grade four glioblastoma tumor is terminal, according to Variety.
The singer said he experienced a pair of seizures over the summer.

“We don’t want your sadness, we just want love and positivity and together we will raise awareness of this terrible disease and look for all available treatment options,” Parker wrote to fans in his Instagram post. “It’s gonna be a tough battle but with everyone’s love and support we are going to beat this.”
The Wanted formed in 2009 and released three studio albums before the members opted to go on a break in 2014 to pursue opportunities as solo artists.
The British-Irish group’s 2010 breakout hit song “All Time Low” debuted atop the United Kingdom singles chart. The band later topped that chart again with the 2011 song “Glad You Came.”
Parker and his wife welcomed their first child last year and are currently expecting their second.
