A young Waukegan man was shot Tuesday afternoon and later airlifted from a hospital, police said Wednesday.
Waukegan police were not releasing many details of the shooting in the 1500 block of Lydia Avenue, citing the ongoing investigation.
Police said they were called to the street, which is just west of Yeoman Park, around 4:10 p.m. and found a male Waukegan resident who had been shot. Police declined to disclose his identity, saying only that the victim is a male in his late teens. He was outside when he was shot, police said.

He was taken to a hospital and later airlifted to another hospital for treatment, police said. His condition was not available.
