The Reserve Management Group has planned to move the General Iron scrap shredding facility to Chicago’s East Side neighborhood. General Iron closed its Lincoln Park facilities to move operations to a site on the Calumet River. Mayor Lightfoot on Feb. 18 blocked the scrap shredder from opening on the Southeast Side.
