Montgomery on Saturday will host its second annual food truck festival at Montgomery Park along the Fox River.

Montgomery Street Eats Fest, organized by the village of Montgomery in partnership with Brew Avenue Events, will benefit the Montgomery Foundation and the Veterans Smile Program. It will run from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the park, 316 N. River St.

Entry to the fest, which will feature about 10 food trucks, is free.

“The setting is perfect, the shaded Montgomery Park is an ideal location for the food trucks,” said Alesssandro Vazquez of Brew Avenue Events.

He suggests those going to the fest just need to bring blankets and chairs and “grab all your food and beverages from the trucks.”

The village of Montgomery and Fox Valley Park District also plan to have 40 picnic tables at the park for those who would like to stop by for a quick bite to eat, village officials said.

The event is in the same area that hosts Montgomery Fest, set to run this year from Aug. 19 to 21.

The food truck fest will include music and a beer tent, organizers said.

“Food truck events continue to be a great way for friends and families to get outside together and not have to worry about the ongoing COVID concerns or deal with the stress of what to plan to eat that everyone will like,” said Montgomery Communications Manager Kristina Nemetz on the village’s website. “Last year, this event was a huge hit. We had people stop by for lunch, some for a snack, some for dinner and a few groups stayed the entire day.”

Tickets are not required, but those planning to attend may register online in advance through Brew Avenue Event’s Eventbrite site.
