Two people have finally claimed a $1.337 billion Mega Millions jackpot after a single ticket to the July 29 drawing was sold in Des Plaines. The Illinois Lottery said the prize for the drawing, which was the nation’s third-largest lottery prize, was claimed by two individuals who had agreed to split the prize if they won.
And city building inspectors have examined and helped stabilize a damaged portion of an Austin apartment building that suddenly exploded on Tuesday, partially collapsing the roof and critically injuring three of the eight people sent to area hospitals.
