
From Bunny Train rides to visits with the Easter Bunny to egg hunts of all sorts, things will be hopping in the Elgin area for Easter season.
Here’s a list of some upcoming events:
Bunny Train: The Fox River Valley Trolley Museum, 35W003 Route 31, South Elgin, will be hosting rides on the Bunny Train and offering visits with the Easter Bunny and egg hunts on March 25, April 1 and April 8. For rates and times, see www.foxtrolley.org/bunny-train.
Pooched Egg Hunt: A free egg hunt with treats for canines will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 1, in the South Elgin dog park in County Park, 225 S. Family Fun Egg Hunt: Camp Big Timber, 37W955 Big Timber Road, Elgin, is holding a children’s egg hunt for ages 10 and younger at 9 a.m. Saturday, April 1. Cost is $10. To register, go to www.flashlightegghunt.org/event-details/family-egg-hunt-2023.
Flashlight Egg Hunt: Camp Big Timber, 37W955 Big Timber Road, Elgin, is holding an adult flashlight egg hunt for ages 21 and older at 8 p.m. Saturday, April 1. Cost is $25. To register, see www.flashlightegghunt.org/event-details/adult-flashlight-egg-hunt-2023.
Randall Oaks Park Egg Hunts: Six children’s egg hunts, organized by age, will be held from 9 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. Saturday, April 1, at Randall Oaks Park, 750 Randall Road, West Dundee. Open to ages 2 to 8, the cost is $5 for Dundee Township residents, $9 for nonresidents. Deadline to register at www.dtpd.org/egg-hunts is March 31.
Elgin Flashlight Easter Egg Hunt: The Elgin Parks and Recreation Foundation in partnership with The Haight is holding a flashlight egg hunt for adults 21 and older from 7 to 10 p.m. Saturday, April 1, at Hawthorne Hill Nature Center, 28 Brookside Drive. Swimming for Eggs: Children can pick up eggs while swimming at Dundee Township Park District’s Rakow Center indoor pool, 665 Barrington Ave., Carpentersville, during time blocks between 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, April 2. Randall Oaks Zoo Easter Bunny: Children can visit with the Easter Bunny from 10 a.m. to noon and 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, April 2, at Randall Oaks Zoo, 1180 N. Randall Road, West Dundee. Regular zoo admission rates apply. For more information, see www.facebook.com/RandallOaksZoo.
Glow-in-the-Dark Egg Hunt: A free glow-in-the-dark egg hunt for children 10 and younger will be held at 8 p.m. Thursday, April 6, on the baseball fields in Jim Hansen Park, 338 Valley Forge Ave. Register by March 23 at www.southelgin.com/registration, section #53605.
Breakfast with the Bunny: South Elgin’s annual Breakfast with the Bunny will be held from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 8, at Village Squire, 480 S. Randall Road. Cost is $15 for residents, $18 for nonresidents. Register by March 17 at www.southelgin.com/registration, section #53602.
Sleepy Hollow Service Club Egg Hunts: The Sleepy Hollow Service Club will hold free egg hunts at noon Saturday, April 8, in the field by the Sleepy Hollow Fire station, 7 Thorobred Lane.
