A man was arrested after the SWAT team was called to a domestic disturbance involving a 70-year-old woman in the McKinley Park neighborhood, Chicago police said.
Shortly before 7:15 p.m. Thursday, officers responded to a domestic disturbance in the 2300 block of West Pershing Road. A 70-year-old woman was involved in an argument with a man who armed himself with a sharp object. Officers were able to remove the woman from a building where the man had barricaded himself inside of a room.
The man was taken into custody hours later before 11:30 p.m., police said. He was taken to Holy Cross Hospital for evaluation and charges were pending.
