Mourners, elected officials and police officers from across the state gathered in Forest Park Wednesday for the funeral of Chicago police Officer Krystal Rivera, the first CPD officer killed in the line of duty this year. Rivera, a CPD officer for four years, was assigned to a tactical team in the Gresham District (6th) when she was unintentionally killed by her partner which chasing a suspect. She is survived by her adolescent daughter.
