Elgin Community College Arts Center’s 2025-26 season announced

Tickets are on sale for the Elgin Community College Arts Center’s 2025-26 season.

Here is the schedule of evening performances on the main stage:

  • Friday, Sept. 26: Artrageous;
  • Saturday, Oct. 11: Disenchanted!;
  • Saturday, Oct. 18: The Fabulous Equinox Orchestra: Rags to Riches-Celebrating the Life and Music of Tony Bennett;
  • Friday, Oct. 24: Lord Chamberlain’s Men perform Shakespeare’s “Twelfth Night”;
  • Saturday, Dec. 6: Jim Witter’s Christmas Memories;
  • Friday, Dec. 12: Under the Streetlamp: Hip to the Holidays;
  • Saturday, Jan. 31: Les Ballets Trockadero de Monte Carlo;
  • Saturday, March 21: Uptown, a soul revue;
  • Friday, March 27: Las Cafeteras;
  • Friday, April 10: guitar virtuoso Luca Stricagnoli.

Here is the schedule of Tuesday midday matinees.

  • Oct. 14: Hey There: The Music of Rosemary Clooney;
  • Nov. 18: And the Winner Is: The Greatest Award-winning Songs of All Time;
  • March 17: Switchback: Travelin’ Down an Irish Road;
  • April 7: If I Had a Hammer: The Heart of Folk Music.

Two acts have been booked for Club Cabaret shows in the Second Space Theatre:

  • Nov. 21-22: “Make ‘Em Laugh”;
  • March 6-7: “Jo Ann Daugherty Trio and Bruce Henry present Groove Sessions: Pop, Country, Soul & Jazz Hits Reimagined.”

Forever Home Dog Rescue fundraiser at Rosie O’Hare’s Saturday

Forever Home Dog Rescue will be holding its annual “Dog Days of Summer” fundraiser from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 9, at Rosie O’Hare’s Public House, 702 Water St., East Dundee.

The event will feature a silent auction for gift baskets, a 50/50 raffle, live acoustic music from John Babin and a wine cork pull, according to a social media post.

Back to School Bash being held Saturday at Judson University

Judson University, Papa John’s Pizza and From the Barrio to the Boardroom will be hosting a free Back to School Bash from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 9, on the Judson campus, 1151 N. State St., Elgin.

The family-friendly event will feature games with prizes, a raffle for a laptop computer, free pizza and free backpacks for the first 200 children who attend, according to a social media post. Former WBC Heavyweight Champion Fres Oquendo is scheduled to make an appearance.

Elgin Hispanic Network hosting Pilates at the Park on Sunday

The Elgin Hispanic Network will be hosting “Pilates at the Park” from 7 to 9 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 10, in Festival Park, 132 S. Grove Ave., Elgin.

All levels of fitness are welcome, according to the network’s website. Participants should bring their own exercise mats.
