A 16-year-old girl was seriously wounded overnight in a drive-by shooting in the South Shore neighborhood, Chicago police said.
Around 1:30 a.m. Tuesday, the teenage girl was in a backyard of a residence in the 7400 block of South Dante Avenue when she was wounded by someone traveling in a gray SUV that fled the scene, police said.
The teen, who suffered gunshot wounds to both legs, was taken in serious condition to University of Chicago Medical Center, police said.
No one was in custody and detectives were investigating.
