A 16-year-old girl was seriously wounded Tuesday night in a stabbing in the Loop in the Printers Row neighborhood, Chicago police said.

Shortly before 10 p.m., officers responded to a disturbance in the 1100 block of South State Street and found a teenage girl who had suffered multiple stab wounds to the body, police said.

The teen was taking to Northwestern Memorial Hospital where she was listed in serious condition.

A preliminary investigation uncovered the teenage girl was arguing with an unknown suspect.

No one was in custody and detectives were investigating.
