
Two people were found fatally shot inside a vehicle Friday night in the Armour Square neighborhood on the city’s South Side, according to Chicago police.
Deering (9th) district police found a man and a woman, each with a gunshot wound to the head, inside a black Ford Explorer parked in the intersection of South Princeton Avenue and West 31st Street just after 7 p.m., police said. According to a police report obtained by the Tribune, the woman was in the passenger seat while the man was in the driver’s seat with a gun in his lap. The car, did not appear to have any outside damage from gunfire, per the police report.
Both were pronounced dead at the scene, police said. An autopsy is scheduled for Saturday and the Cook County Medical Examiner had not yet made the victims’ identities public as of Saturday morning. A police report didn’t specify the relationship between the two victims but stated that they shared an address.
No one was in custody Friday evening as Wentworth area detectives began their homicide investigation.
