A shooting on Aurora’s near East Side Friday night left two men hospitalized with gunshot wounds, according to the Aurora Police Department.
At around 11:43 p.m. on Friday, officers responded to a report of two people shot in the 200 block of South Fourth Street, a news release from the Aurora Police Department said. The department also received a ShotSpotter alert for multiple gunshots in the area.
Upon arrival, Aurora police found two men, 19 and 20, with gunshot wounds, according to the department.
Aurora Fire Department paramedics arrived at the scene and took the men to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, the release said. The men are currently in stable condition, and no other injuries were reported, police said.
Detectives from the police department’s Investigations Bureau responded to the scene and began investigating the circumstances of the incident, the release said. Evidence technicians also responded to identify and collect forensic evidence.
The investigation into the shooting remains active, the police department said. The department is asking anyone with information to call its Investigations Division at 630-256-5500.
