A woman was discovered lying in the street overnight after a possible hit-and-run on the West Side in the Garfield Park neighborhood, Chicago police said.
Shortly after 1:30 a.m., officers were waived down and alerted to a person in the middle of the street in the 3900 block of West Fifth Avenue. The officers found a woman about 40 years of age with multiple injuries to the body, police said.
The woman was taken in critical condition to Mount Sinai Hospital. The Major Accidents Investigation Unit was investigating as police said it was a possible hit-and-run accident.
No one was in custody.
