A man died in a fire Sunday afternoon inside a house in the New City neighborhood, Chicago police said.
At 3:18 p.m., a man was inside the residence when the fire happened in the 4700 block of South Damen Avenue, according to police. He was taken to Stroger Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The man’s age was unknown.
Detectives were investigating, police said.
