Michael Solomon, 36, was killed in Chicago Heights early Tuesday morning, according to the medical examiner’s office.
The Chicago Heights Police Department said in a news release officers responded to a call of a battery victim in the 1200 block of West End Avenue at about 1 a.m. Tuesday.
Solomon was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead, police said.
The medical examiner’s office listed Solomon’s manner of death as homicide, but the specific cause of death was listed as pending in the office’s report.
Police said the case is under investigation and asked anyone with information to call 708-756-6400.
The case is the second homicide in the south suburbs this year, according to the Daily Southtown’s tracking. The first, the Jan. 13 shooting death of Jadon Lewis, 22, also took place in Chicago Heights.
