Police officers were on the scene of a 17-hour-long standoff involving Special Weapons And Tactics Sunday morning in South Shore that ended in the arrest of one man.

The situation occurred at around 5:02 am on the 2700 block of East 76th Street, according to police, and ended around 10:26 p.m. Police said a 45-year-old man was taken into custody without incident and transported to Advocate Christ Medical Center for observation in good condition.

Detectives are investigating, but no further details were released.
