Skokie police officers responded to a reported bomb threat at the Skokie Public Library, located at 5215 Oakton Street, on Sunday at 3:46 p.m.

Officers contacted library security and administration shortly after receiving the threat and evacuated all visitors to secure and close the building. The library closed for the remainder of the day.

According to the Skokie Police Department, no bomb was located and no injuries were reported from the incident.

Skokie Police Sergeant Brandi Shelton said police are “investigating the incident and will provide more information as the investigation allows.”

Christie Robinson, senior communication strategist for the Skokie Public Library, said the library also had no new information as of Monday afternoon.

Robinson said the library would be resuming normal operational hours Monday, Feb. 16, open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
