Two people were rescued from the Fox River near the dam in Montgomery on Tuesday, according to the Montgomery Police Department.

Following a report of two individuals in the water, officers responded with a significant presence along the Fox River Tuesday evening, working alongside the Montgomery Countryside Fire Protection District, a Facebook post from the police department said.

After coordinated rescue efforts, both individuals were safely recovered from the river, the department said. They were taken to a local hospital for evaluation as a precaution and in line with safety protocols, officials said.

The department on Tuesday encouraged residents to use caution when near the water, and reminded residents that river conditions, particularly near the dam, can be dangerous.
