PARK DISTRICT TO RELEASE SPRING PROGRAM GUIDE
Naperville Park District’s Spring Program Guide, providing info on classes, spring and summer break camps, garden plot rentals and upcoming special events, will be available online starting Wednesday, Feb. 25.
Found at napervilleparks.org/programguides, the guide can help residents plan for upcoming spring activities and register for programs, district officials said.
Registration for spring programs and summer camps begins sat 8:30 a.m. Monday, March 2, for residents and 8:30 a.m. Thursday, March 5, for nonresidents.
Registration for T-Ball, coach pitch and softball begins at noon Tuesday, March 10, for residents and noon Thursday, March 12, for nonresidents.
Gardeners interested in reserving space at the community garden plots can register at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 17, for residents and 8:30 a.m. Thursday, March 19, for nonresidents.
New summer camp programs include options focused on STEAM or science, technology, engineering, arts and math, and introduction to coding and robotics, LEGO camps and “Little Scientist” camps. The district has also added new classes, such as sewing, quilting and estate planning.
PLANNING COMMISSION MAY CHANGE MEETING TIME
Naperville’s Planning and Zoning Commission, which has historically met at 7 p.m., may implement an earlier start time in light of recent public feedback.
Commissioners this week directed city staff to draft an amendment to the panel’s bylaws, which — if approved — would push meeting start times to 6 p.m.
The commission will discuss changing the time at a future meeting. If a new time is approved, it would be final and would not need city council approval.
Commissioners said they want their meetings to be as accessible as possible. Some residents have complained that securing child care to attend a meeting that doesn’t start until 7 p.m. can be a challenge.
“Ultimately, what I want is to maximize the ability for residents to be heard,” Commissioner Allison Longenbaugh said.

ARTISTS BEING SOUGHT FOR WATER STREET ARTS FAIR
Local artists are being invited to take part in the 3rd annual Water Street Fine Art and Fine Craft Fair this summer.
Water Street Naperville will host the juried art exhibition and sale from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, July 12, along Water and Webster streets near the Naperville Riverwalk and Naper Settlement, organizers said.
The show is seeking area artists to exhibit works in a variety of media, including painting, drawing, sculpture, jewelry, photography, pottery, glass, wood and more.
Artists can apply until May 15 at www.zapplication.org/event-info.php?ID=14387. A jury will select 25 to 30 artists to participate in the show.
The event will also feature children’s activities and live jazz by the Pete Ellman Trio. Admission is free.
