A 6-year-old and 15-year-old girl were struck Friday morning by a driver who fled the scene in the West Englewood neighborhood, Chicago police said.
Shortly before 7:45 a.m. Friday, the girls were in a crosswalk in the 1700 block of West 69th Street when they were hit by a white SUV headed west. The driver fled west from the scene.
The 6-year-old girl suffered several injuries to the body, and was taken to Comer Children’s Hospital where she nwas listed in critical condition. The teenage girl suffered abrasions and was taken to the same hospital where she was listed in serious condition, police said.
The Major Accidents and Investigation Unit was investigating.
