Geneva and Yorkville Christian move up the rankings topped by Kaneland and Oswego.

With records through Monday and previous rankings in parentheses.

1. Kaneland 30-0 (1): Marshawn Cocroft puts up to 26 points lead the Knights to a perfect finish with a 76-44 win at LaSalle-Peru. The Class 3A Burlington Central Regional is up next.

2. Oswego 22-9 (2): Ethan Vahl and the Panthers can’t overlook Plainfield East at home Wednesday to earn a third chance at Bolingbrook with regional title on line Friday.

3. Geneva 23-6 (4): All-conference playmaker Gabe Jensen and the Vikings drop into Class 3A for playoffs, opening at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday against host Burlington Central.

4. Batavia 20-9 (3): Rubber match? Evan Blankenship and the Bulldogs have split with conference rival Wheaton Warrenville South and could be on collision course for regional title.

5. Oswego East 19-11 (5): With 20 or more wins in seven full seasons of eight years under in coach Ryan Velasquez, Wolves look to extend streak Wednesday against Downers Grove North.

6. Burlington Central 18-12 (6): Leading scorer Patrick Magan, who averages 13.1 points, leads Rockets’ Class 3A regional bid at home following a 62-56 OT win against Huntley.

7. Aurora Christian 20-7 (7): With Northern Illinois football recruit Asa Johnson out for the season with a knee injury, Jacob Baumann tallies 19 points to lead Eagles to 69-51 win over Plano.

8. Yorkville Christian 20-10 (10): Playoff path for SIU-Edwardsville recruit Jayden Riley and the Mustangs begins Wednesday in the Class 2A Beecher Regional.

9. Marmion 19-12 (8): Challenging path awaits Colin McEniry and seventh-seeded Cadets with 6 p.m. opener in Class 3A Crystal Lake South Regional against second-seeded Cary-Grove.

10. Waubonsie Valley 17-13 (9): Kris Mporokoso leads Warriors at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday against repeat regional host West Aurora and Travis Brown, the Upstate Eight West’s player of year.
