Nick Offerman, the former off-Loop Chicago actor who became a movie and TV star, is returning to Chicago to appear alongside his wife Megan Mullally in the previously announced “Iceboy! Or The Completely Untrue Story of How Eugene O’Neill Came to Write The Iceman Cometh,” a new musical with music by Mark Hollman (“Urinetown”), lyrics by Hollman and Jay Reiss and book by Erin Quinn Purcell and Reiss.
Performances begin June 20 and run through July 26 at the Goodman Theatre (tickets and more information at www.goodmantheatre.org).
Separately, Chicago Shakespeare Theater says it has postponed its previously announced production of the musical “Ain’t Misbehavin'” due to performer schedule conflicts and has replaced it with a new marital comedy by Scooter Pietsch, titled “Fault.”
Teri Hatcher and Enrico Colantoni will star, with Jason Alexander returning to Chicago Shakespeare to direct. Performances will begin on April 18 and run through May 24 in The Yard on Navy Pier (tickets and more information at www.chicagoshakes.com).
