A 71-year-old woman and a 68-year-old woman were both fatally shot in the chest Saturday night in Washington Heights, Chicago police said.
The Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the victims as Phyllis Goolsby, 68, and Tuanna Thomas, 71. The two were pronounced dead at around 10:50 p.m. at the scene of the incident, 10442 S. Peoria St., according to the medical examiner’s records.
Officers took a 75-year-old man who was at the scene into custody and recovered a weapon, according to police, who said charges are pending.
