A 24-year-old man was discovered fatally wounded inside a hallway of a building Monday night in the Englewood neighborhood, Chicago police said.

Shortly before 11:45 p.m., officers responded to a call of an unresponsive in the hallway of a building in the 800 block of West 66th Street. The victim suffered apparent gunshot wounds to the face and stomach and was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

The victim was identified as Terell M. Britten of the 6700 block of South Sangamon Street, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

A weapon was recovered from the scene, but no other details were available, police said.

Detectives were investigating.
