A man described by police as in his 30s was fatally wounded late Wednesday morning on the West Side in the Garfield Park neighborhood, Chicago police reported.
Shortly before 11:45 a.m., the man was walking in the 4100 block of West Adam Street when someone opened fire in his direction, striking him multiple times to the body. He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The gunman fled west on Adam Street, police said.
No one was in custody for the fatal shooting, and detectives were investigating.
