Years in business: 6
What does your business do? “Our business helps people look better, feel better and live longer,” Sheets said.
How do you achieve that? “There are different aspects to this business. We do full body treatments for overall health and wellness and we also have aesthetics like your typical med spa treatments. Laser hair removal. Botox. Fillers. We do Morpheus8, which one of our biggest aesthetic treatments.”
What is Morpheus8? “It’s radiofrequency microneedling for a skin tightening and anti-aging treatment to the face or to the body,” Sheets said.

How does that work? “Anywhere on the body mostly we can treat. We apply a topical numbing cream. Then we start the treatment, which takes about 30 minutes. It delivers radiofrequency energy beneath the surface of the skin,” Sheets said.
“We’re the No. 1 provider in 22 states,” Tevaga Ruhl added.
How does that help improve your skin? “It causes microwounds with radiofrequency as well as actual penetration of the needle. That would response causes as your body heals — increased collagen production, skin tightening, fine lines, wrinkles, improvement in scars, stretch marks,” Sheets said.
Why is it so popular? “One reason is the increased GLP-1 treatments. You’re going to get a lot of loose skin. This can reverse that without surgery,” Tevaga Ruhl said. “We do thousands of these treatments.”
“When people lose weight quickly, you have the loose skin. The treatment helps lift that back up,” Sheets added.
What else is offered here? “We have a lot of different treatments, not just Morpheus8. … We have full body red light therapy, which is how Jessica started this company,” Sheets said.
“Yes, in my basement with one device,” Tevaga Ruhl said. “And now we have seven locations.”
Where are those? “We have this one, Oak Brook, Arlington Heights, Mokena. We have one in Utah and two in California,” Tevaga Ruhl said.
What is red light therapy? “We wrap your legs, your torso, arms, face and neck. Red light therapy is booming,” Sheets said. “… It’s great for anti-aging, skin tightening, collagen production, detox, inch loss as well. For the full body red light, most people lose one to three inches for each treatment,” Sheets said.
“What red light therapy does is it helps your cells rejuvenate, opens them up to help them detox,” Tevaga Ruhl said. “Our entire body is made of cells. As we age, those cells get slower. … When you have red light therapy, you’re getting a whole wellness and health treatment. The effect is you look better, lose weight and feel better.”
Why do you like your job? “I love seeing people continue to improve and just feel better because they’re looking better,” Tevaga Ruhl said.
Why did you start this business? “In 2015 I became a single mom. It was tough. I had three kids between the ages of 10 and 4,” she said. “We were living in a Motel 6 by the outlet malls. The kids loved it because we had a pool. … It was hard to find a job. … I got a job in social media marketing. I went door to door offering social media service and built a marketing company. … My company was in the health and wellness space.
“… In 2020, COVID-19 happened. I saw a lot of businesses struggle in health and wellness. … I wanted to help people, to help women to help people achieve and hit their goals. I got a red-light device. … I had remarried by then. People were coming in down to my basement. … I had 80 people coming in every day. We opened here in September 2023.”
What’s been a key? “We brought on an incredible medical staff. Morpheus8 is the gold standard. We’ll always bring in the best of the very best. We believe in our staff and invest in technology. … And we partnered with Life Force, their only retail partner.”
What are your hours? “We are open 9 to 8 Monday through Friday, 9 to 5 on Saturday, 9 to 3 on Sunday. … We have nine employees here.”
What about competition? “We don’t think about it,” Tevaga Ruhl said.
What’s your advice for someone starting a business? “Have a purpose bigger than yourself and bigger than a dollar. … That passion and motivation is what keeps you going even when things are a little tough or the economy changes,” Tevaga Ruhl said.
