Burbank

AGGRAVATED ASSAULT: Trevell L. Britt, 32, Chicago, was charged with aggravated assault and felony retail theft after taking merchandise May 27 from a department store in the 7600 block of Lacrosse Avenue and then threatening an employee with a pair of wire cutters, police said.

RESTAURANT BURGLARY: Four masked and gloved individuals broke through the glass door of a restaurant in the 6900 block of 79th Street early Feb. 20, retrieved a cash box from one of the four video gambling machines they damaged and fled, police said.

Chicago Heights

ARMED ROBBERY: A couple told officers they were walking north in the 1200 block of Park Avenue shortly after midnight Feb. 17 when four masked gun-wielding youths emerged from an alleyway and took the man’s car and wallet and the woman’s purse, police said.

Dolton

DEALING ALLEGED: Darius Sparks, 42, and Donzelle Zimmerman, 24, both of the 14400 block of South Ingleside Avenue, Dolton, were charged with dealing drugs after organized crime investigators recovered 1,350 grams of cocaine, 862 grams of methamphetamine, 84 grams of crack cocaine, 67 ecstasy pills, 10 Xanax pills, 727 grams of cannabis, thousands in cash, digital scales and drug paraphernalia March 9 at a home in that block, Cook County sheriff’s police said. Zimmerman was also charged with armed violence and aggravated unlawful possession of a weapon stemming from the recovery of three guns, police said.

Evergreen Park

GUN POSSESSION: Clarence Ray Thornton, 39, Indianapolis, Indiana, was arrested Feb. 18 at 95th Street and Millard Avenue and charged with aggravated unlawful possession of a firearm after officers recovered a loaded stolen 9 mm pistol and loaded magazine and determined he lacked Illinois gun permits, police said.

DEALING ALLEGED: Anton D. Davis, 32, 3000 block of 87th Street, Evergreen Park, was charged Feb. 10 with unlawful possession of a firearm by a repeat felony offender, aggravated unlawful use of a weapon and possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, police said. Officers recovered a loaded 9 mm handgun with a loaded extended magazine and seven bags containing suspected psilocybin mushrooms during a traffic stop near 91st Street and Rockwell Avenue, police said.

Homewood

RETAIL THEFT: William Ellis, 52, 8700 block of Roberts Road, Hickory Hills, was arrested Feb. 8 and charged with two counts of retail theft and resisting arrest at a department store in the 17600 block of Halsted Street after officers recovered items from the store collectively selling for $490 and items selling for $370 taken from a grocery store in the 17700 block of Halsted Street, police said.

Lansing

RECKLESS DISCHARGE: Vanessa D. Jackson, 30, 2000 block of 221st Street, Sauk Village, was arrested Feb. 21 and accused of recklessly discharging a firearm after firing one shot from a handgun during a social gathering in the 17800 block of Lorenz Avenue, police said.

Monee

AGGRAVATED BATTERY: Charles S. Grant, 45, 5600 block of Wilson St., Monee, was arrested during a Feb. 28 at a motel in the 5800 block of Monee-Manhattan Road and subsequently charged with aggravated battery/police officer and resisting arrest, according to police and Will County court records online. Grant attempted to leave the building, uttered threats and made physical contact with two officers, police said.

New Lenox

WARRANT SCAM: A New Lenox Estates subdivision resident paid $400 into an online financial technology account to cancel a supposed federal arrest warrant in response to an individual posing as a member of the Will County sheriff’s office warrants division, whose spoofed call showed Will County sheriffs office on the caller ID. The resident realized it was a scam when the caller requested additional funds.

Oak Lawn

AGGRAVATED BATTERY: Kodie N. Comer, 35, 9100 block of 50th Avenue, Oak Lawn, was arrested Feb. 9 and charged with aggravated domestic battery, police said.

IDENTITY THEFT: Dennis L. Maddox II, 45, 10900 block of Nagle Avenue, Worth, was arrested Feb. 17 and charged with identity theft and unlawful possession of fraudulent identification after officers stopped his car and recovered checks, financial documents, bank cards and driver’s licenses belonging to other people, police said. Maddox was also charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver after officers recovered 43.5 grams of suspected methamphetamine, unused plastic sandwich bags and a scale, police said.

Orland Park

GAMBLING THEFT: Dario Ortiz, 41, 9000 block of Lunar Court, Orland Park, was arrested and accused of theft March 8 at a bar in the 14400 block of John Humphrey Drive after taking another patron’s unattended $400 video gambling ticket and cashing it, police said.

ROBBERY CHARGED: Malik Campbell, 25, Peoria, was charged with robbery after forcibly taking a woman’s purse March 12 in an Orland Square mall parking lot, police said. Campbell was taken into custody in Chicago after a chase involving Midlothian officers, police said.

Palos Hills

DUI CRASH: Robert J. Brott, 30, Palos Hills, was arrested March 11 for drunken driving and other traffic offenses during a crash investigation in the 11100 block of Southwest Highway, police said.

Park Forest

STORE BATTERY: Bryan A. Smith, 49, homeless, was arrested and charged with battery Feb. 13 after punching and pushing a woman with to a department store floor in the 100 block of Orchard Drive, police said. Smith said he thought the woman, who he didn’t know, was a Muslim, police said.

TRESPASSING: Joshua T. Cathey, 29, 4100 block of Lindenwood Drive, Matteson, a self-described former squatter, was arrested Feb. 13 and charged with trespassing after forcing his way into an unoccupied house in the 300 block of Winnebago Street to retrieve personal items, police said.

Steger

DUI CRASH: Sherman B. Griffith Jr., 31, Country Club Hills, was arrested Feb. 28 and subsequently charged with drunken driving, failing to reduce speed to avoid a collision, improper lane use and failing to provide proof of insurance in the 100 block of Dorsetshire Drive, according to police and Will County court records online.

AGGRAVATED BATTERY: Genesis Z. Tate, 25, 3700 block of Union Avenue, Steger, was arrested March 8 during a well-being investigation in the 300 block of West Steger Road and subsequently charged with battery, aggravated assault and resisting arrest after brandishing a frying pan, struggling and later fighting with officers while being placed in a squad car, police said.
