The Lake Forest City Council will officially have two new members starting in May, following last week’s election.

Rosemary Kehr and Lloyd Culbertson were elected in the March 17 primary and will join the council for the next two years, while incumbents Nancy Novit and Alice LeVert were re-elected to new two-year terms.

Kehr will represent the city’s second ward. She received 526 votes, according to unofficial results from the Lake County Clerk. Kehr previously served on the city’s Plan Commission and Zoning Board of Appeals. She will succeed Edward “Ted” Notz, who is stepping down after serving the customary six years.

Culbertson will represent the fourth ward after receiving 605 votes, according to unofficial results. His prior city service includes terms on the Plan Commission, Building Review Board, Zoning Board of Appeals, and Historic Preservation Commission. He will replace Eileen Looby Weber, who is also leaving the council after six years.

Novit received 433 votes in her bid to continue representing Lake Forest’s first ward. The upcoming term will be her third two-year term on the council.

LeVert received 766 votes as she was re-elected for a second term.

All four candidates were endorsed by the Lake Forest Caucus and ran unopposed.

The Lake Forest City Council consists of eight members, with two alderpersons representing each ward.

All four are scheduled to be sworn in at a May City Council meeting.
