Four people were injured in a traffic crash Wednesday afternoon in Batavia, according to the Batavia Police Department.

The crash occurred around 4:19 p.m. Wednesday at the intersection of North Randall Road and Mill Street, and involved a Tesla sedan and a Dodge pickup truck, a news release from the police department said.

A preliminary investigation indicates that the Tesla sedan was heading south on Randall Road and was attempting to turn left onto eastbound McKee Street, while the Dodge was traveling north on Randall Road, when the crash occurred, according to the release.

As a result of the crash, two female occupants of the Tesla were taken to an area hospital, one with life-threatening injuries, the police department said. A man who had been driving the Dodge was taken to an area hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

A third vehicle, a Nissan SUV, was also involved in the crash, the news release said, and one occupant of that vehicle was taken to an area hospital, also with non-life-threatening injuries.

The Tesla and Dodge were both towed from the scene, while the Nissan was not, the department said.

The investigation remains ongoing, according to police department officials, who are asking anyone with additional information about the crash to contact them at 630-454-2500.
