A 47-year-old man was fatally wounded Tuesday night in a drive-by shooting on the South Side in the Englewood neighborhood, Chicago police said.
Shortly after 8:30 p.m., the victim was standing outside in the 1400 block of West 71st Street when a SUV approached, and someone inside pulled out a weapon and opened fire before fleeing east on 71st Street, police said.
The victim, who suffered wounds to his chest and abdomen, was taken in critical condition to UChicago Medicine where he was later pronounced dead.
No one was in custody for the fatal attack, and detectives were investigating.
