Hilary Gowins

Hilary Gowins is a member of the Tribune Editorial Board. She began her journalism career as a reporter at the Northwest Herald, where she covered local government and wrote enterprise stories focusing on Illinois politics at the state and local level. Later, she joined the Illinois Policy Institute, where she worked for 12 years in various editorial and leadership roles. Gowins is a graduate of Kenyon College and also has a graduate degree from Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism.
