Keith J. Kremer, age 76 of Lansing, IL, passed away on June 4, 2026. He is survived by his loving wife, Patricia Kremer (nee Ferrier); one daughter, Molly Jane (Jarrod); siblings Kerry (Denise), Rebecca Hluska (nee Kremer), Kendall (Lisa), Curtis, and Corey (Elaine); many cousins, nieces, and nephews; and his longtime best friend, Patrick Baker of Lansing. Keith was preceded in death by his dear parents, Glen and Lida Kremer, and beloved sister-in-law, Jean Kremer (nee Downey). Keith attended the former St. Ann Catholic School in Lansing and then attended high school at Bishop Noll Institute in Hammond, IN. He earned a Bachelor’s Degree from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, IL, and was a professional carpenter for 28 years with N’th Degree at McCormick Place in Chicago, IL. He had an affinity for sports, playing both football and wrestling at Bishop Noll, and he shared his passion and knowledge as coach to grade school, high school, and junior college students. Still beloved by many as “Coach”, he notably coached two players who later played in the ranks of the NFL. Lansing natives Tom Baldwin (New York Jets) and Keith’s younger brother Kendall Kremer (Kansas City Chiefs). He consistently maintained an interest in football until his passing, for the sheer love of the game. Keith was known as a witty comic, a devoted husband, father, brother, uncle, nephew, and son who loved his country. He produced watercolor artwork as a hobby and had a deep understanding of human behavior, as evidenced by his college coursework. Keith was often described as the kindest person you’d ever want to know and will be profoundly missed by all who were fortunate to cross his path. Family and friends are invited to visit with the Kremer family on Wednesday, June 10, from 3 – 8 PM at the Schroeder-Lauer Funeral Home, 3227 Ridge Rd., Lansing, IL. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Lansing Community Food Pantry (connect@lansingassembly.com; 708-895-3807). Visitation will also be held on Saturday, June 13, 2026 from 9:00 – 10:00 AM at All Souls Parish (formerly St. Ann Church), 301 Ridge Rd., Lansing, IL to accommodate out-of-town family and friends.
