Ronald Frank Zitko (age 95) of Downers Grove, IL, passed away Saturday May 16, 2026 in Downers Grove. Beloved husband of Elizabeth S. Zitko (nee Skrha), married 66 years, father of Karyn Zitko (Donald Blunk) and Robert Zitko (Christine Zitko) and grandfather to Bradley, Christopher and Alexis Zitko.

Born February 1, 1931 in Chicago, IL, son of the late Frank and Bessie Zitko, brother of the late Eileen B. Gordey, he achieved his Bachelor’s degree from University of Illinois in Mechanical Engineering. With a 30-year career at International Harvester, he proudly held over a dozen patents. A longtime member of Christ Lutheran Church of Clarendon Hills (60+ years), he also enjoyed square dancing and working on home projects for family and friends. A Celebration of Life service will be held at Christ Lutheran Church (60 55th Street, Clarendon Hills, IL) at 11am on Saturday, May 30. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be directed to Christ Lutheran Church.
