Nathan Chapman, Jacobs, senior, pitcher: Dominant effort. Went 4-2 with 0.99 ERA and 83 strikeouts in 49 2/3 innings. Committed to Eastern Illinois.

Nathan Hayes, St. Charles East, senior, pitcher: Took advantage of first full season on mound, going 5-0 with 1.54 ERA and 62 strikeouts in 36 1/3 innings. Committed to North Dakota State for football.

Michael Hilker, Yorkville, senior, pitcher: Foxes’ ace went 8-1 with a save, 1.61 ERA and 86 strikeouts in 61 innings. Committed to Wisconsin-Whitewater.

Ben Karpowicz, South Elgin, senior, infielder/outfielder/pitcher: Anchor of lineup turned into standout reliever. Hit .390 with 39 runs, nine home runs, 34 RBIs. Struck out 18 without a walk. Committed to Illinois State.

Jayden Lobliner, St. Charles North, senior, catcher: Hit .403 with six doubles, three homers, 21 RBIs. Two-time all-state. Team MVP. Committed to Kansas State.

Joe Martin, Newark, junior, pitcher: Followed up state tournament run with another stellar season. Went 6-1 with 0.57 ERA and 87 strikeouts in 37 innings. Also hit .446.

Patrick Nelson, Bartlett, senior, outfielder: Emerged as one of the area’s best hitters. Batted .506 with 37 runs, 10 doubles, eight homers, 20 RBIs.

Drew Piaskowy, South Elgin, senior, pitcher: Went 6-0 with 0.95 ERA and 64 strikeouts. Only walked nine. Upstate Eight Conference’s pitcher of the year.

Blake Stempowski, Geneva, senior, infielder: Offensive leader for Vikings hit .460 with 37 runs, 15 doubles, four triples, three homers, 30 RBIs.

Nick Weaver, Streamwood, junior, catcher: Starred for Sabres, hitting .522 with 33 runs, 17 doubles, three homers, 37 RBIs. All-state.

Seth Winkler, St. Charles East, junior, infielder/pitcher: Two-way threat hit .422 with five homers and 32 RBIs. Also went 7-1 with 1.21 ERA and 59 strikeouts in 46 innings.

Jake Zitella, St. Charles East, junior, third baseman: Hit .395 with 24 runs, 10 doubles, two triples, six homers, 30 RBIs. Committed to Illinois.

SECOND TEAM

Jackson Bessette, South Elgin, senior, catcher/outfielder: Hit .511 with 18 runs, 18 doubles, a triple, five homers, 30 RBIs. Committed to Illinois-Chicago.

James Brennan, St. Charles East, junior, designated hitter: Developed big-time bat in middle of lineup. Hit .440 with 16 runs, seven doubles, five homers, 27 RBIs.

Joey Cecola, Oswego, senior, pitcher: Panthers’ ace went 6-2 with 2.10 ERA and 73 strikeouts in 53 1/3 innings. Committed to Illinois-Springfield.

Gavin Duran, Harvest Christian, sophomore, shortstop: Did it all for Lions. Hit .405 with 12 doubles, 10 triples, 16 stolen bases. Solid defensively. All-conference.

Logan Gregorio, Waubonsie Valley, senior, catcher/outfielder: Hit .400 with 24 runs, 10 doubles, eight homers, 34 RBIs. Two-time all-conference.

Nate Harris, Yorkville, sophomore, outfielder/pitcher: Caught fire late in season. Ended up hitting .412 with 35 runs, 11 steals, 11 doubles, three triples, six homers, 30 RBIs. Also went 1-0 with 0.45 ERA in 15 2/3 innings.

Martin Ledbetter, Hinckley-Big Rock, freshman, catcher/pitcher: Made immediate impact for Royals. Hit .507 with 10 doubles, program-record six homers, 32 RBIs. Also posted 2.02 ERA.

Manny Marin, Plano, senior, shortstop: Broke program single-season record with 18 doubles. Hit .439 with four triples, four homers, 36 RBIs.

Tyler Patton, Waubonsie Valley, senior, catcher/first baseman: Teamed with Gregorio to give Warriors tough one-two punch. Hit .411 with 22 runs, 11 doubles, five homers, 35 RBIs.

Simon Skroch, Yorkville, sophomore, pitcher: Steady as Foxes’ No. 2 starter. Went 7-1 with a save. Had 1.35 ERA and 77 strikeouts in 52 innings.

Parker Violett, Kaneland, sophomore, infielder/outfielder/pitcher: Filled stat sheet as Knights reached sectional final. Hit .340 with 38 runs, 25 steals, six doubles, seven homers, 33 RBIs.

Jack Zebig, Marmion, senior, infielder: Earned all-conference honors in rugged Catholic League. Hit .387 with 19 runs, eight doubles, four homers, 26 RBIs.
