The brothers Simon–those dashing detectives of San Diego known as Rick and A.J., played by Gerald McRaney and Jameson Parker–probably would be hard pressed to feel better about this year`s TV season. Not only do they have a good track record solving important cases, but their show, ”Simon & Simon”
at 8 p.m. Thursdays on CBS-Ch. 2, has been in the top 10 consistently in weekly Nielsen ratings.
In Thursday`s episode, A.J. and Rick are hired by a union leader, Dan Thacker (played by Gary Lockwood), to find the person who is blackmailing him. His secret is that he was a Vietnam deserter 20 years ago. He also deserted his wife and children, changed his name and fled to Canada.
He plans to reveal all, but wants to forewarn his ex-wife. The plot thickens when the Simons discover that his ex-wife is more or less in hiding as the widow of an ex-gangster
