The Jan. 20 Tribune reported that the school board has spent $213,617.74 in legal expenses for court battles growing out of its refusal to rehire Ruth Love.
In addition, the schools have spent $1.3 million with a law firm to negotiate desegregation plans with the U.S. government.
With all of the public schools in dire financial straits, it`s a public disgrace for such huge sums to be spent for such legal mumbo jumbo. Surely there must be a better and more sensible way.
