General Motors Corp. has selected a 100-acre farm field in suburban Rochester as the preferred site for a new $73 million engineering center, company and government officials have announced.
The plant would employ 500 to 600 workers, 80 percent of whom already work for GM`s Rochester Products Division, spokesman Clarence Hunter said.
