Wang Laboratories Inc. of Lowell, Mass. will close its plants in the U.S. for the first two weeks of July. More than 6,000 employees have been asked to take their vacations at that time. Wang recently announced that earnings would be down 30 to 40 percent because of sluggish sales throughout the mini-computer and office-automation industries.
