National Can Corp. extended its tender offer for 5.4 million, or 52.7 percent, of the company`s stock beyond the deadline of midnight Thursday to March 29, the company said. It also said 2.6 million of its shares already have been tendered, according to Harris Trust & Savings Bank, the depository for the $40-a-share tender offer. This week, Triangle Industries Inc. made another offer, for all the company`s shares at $41 each.
