Los Angeles Rams` coach John Robinson said he regretted not taking the wind after winning the coin toss. The Bears took a 10-0 lead in the first period.

”I regret the decision to receive the ball, as it turned out,” said Robinson, noting the 23-mile-an-hour wind off Lake Michigan. ”I spent the whole pregame warmup trying to figure out which way the wind was blowing, and I never did figure it out. The wind certainly did become a factor in the first quarter. They put 10 points on the board, and it was uphill from then on.”

”I didn`t think the wind was that big of a deal at the time,” said quarterback Dieter Brock. ”The wind was swirling so much at times you couldn`t tell which way it was blowing.”

Robinson said he thought Jim McMahon (16 of 25 for 164 yards, a touchdown pass and a TD rushing) was the most devastating Bears` weapon.

”I think his performance the last two weeks has been absolutely outstanding,” he said. ”It`s not easy to throw in that type of environment. McMahon just seemed to have a presence about him and a command that I thought was very, very impressive.”

How great are the Bears?

”I think the Bears have to win their next game,” said Robinson.
