A 17-year-old boy was discovered fatally wounded overnight on the Northwest Side in the Montclare neighborhood, Chicago police said.
Shortly after 12:45 a.m., officers responded to a call of an unresponsive male lying in the street in the 6700 block of West Grand Avenue and found a 17-year-old boy with multiple gunshot wounds to the body.
The teen, Jair Salinas, was taken to Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood where he was pronounced dead, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
An autopsy Friday confirmed that the boy died as a result of multiple gunshot wounds and the death was ruled a homicide.
Detectives were investigating.
