Steven Jobs and Apple Computer Inc. reached an out-of-court settlement that will keep Jobs` new company, Next Inc., from marketing a new computer until July, 1987. It also gives Apple the right to inspect the machine for 30 days to insure against the use of proprietary technology. Jobs, Apple`s cofounder and former chairman, resigned in September after being stripped of power.
