Mass for Catherine Newton, 95, of Evanston, will be said at 10 a.m. Thursday in St. Nicholas Catholic Church, 806 Ridge Ave, Evanston. Mrs. Newton, of Evanston, died Monday in St. Francis Hospital, Evanston. Mrs. Newton was a former president of the Altar and Rosary Society and the Ladies of Charity of St. Nicholas parish. Survivors include three sons, Edmund, Robert and Walter; three daughters, Irene Coyle, Mary Maggi and Elizabeth Hannon; 36 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and a brother.
