The son of a Tennessee congressman was indicted on federal charges of filing false income tax returns in a scheme linked to onetime banking mogul C.H. Butcher Jr. Joe S. Duncan, son of U.S. Rep. John J. Duncan (R., Tenn.), was indicted along with Butcher and Michael M. Downing. They are charged with conspiring to hide about $325,000 in income of Joe S. Duncan in an effort to repay loans to the now-defunct United American Bank in Knoxville.
