Whatever happened to being moderate or middle of the road? Today everyone talks in terms of being liberal or conservative and attaches a host of derogatory attributes to each. There seems to be no reasonable middle ground that encompasses the best of both extremes.
In reaction to the liberal late `60`s and `70`s, conservatism has become the rule of the `80`s, spawning a host of fundamentalist social pariahs and uncompassionate behavior. However, regarding the Supreme Court`s recent ruling on the Georgia sodomy laws, conservatism has finally run amok.
Perhaps it`s time for people with reason and tolerance to find their voices (and votes) and begin taking action.
