The Islanders` Mike Bossy scored his second goal of the game midway through the third period to extend Pittsburgh`s winless streak at Nassau Coliseum to 12 games (0-11-1) since 1983.
Craig Simpson scored twice for Pittsburgh, including a goal midway through the second period that made it 2-2. Randy Cunneyworth gave the Penguins a 3-2 lead 2:59 into the third period when he dug the puck off the sideboards, skated in alone and beat Islanders` goaltender Billy Smith.
Bossy then tied it with 8:03 remaining when he got his 29th goal of the season. Bossy was on his knees when he batted the puck past Pittsburgh`s Gilles Meloche.
