Presumably Commonwealth Edison built its nuclear plants because, as we have been told, such plants produce power less expensively than those using other types of fuel. If this is so, wouldn`t Com Ed recover its capital investments more rapidly by mothballing plants fueled by oil, gas or coal?
Doing so would yield another advantage–clean air.
