Chicago Air, which has been flying out of Midway Airport since last May, filed for protection under Chapter 11 bankruptcy. Chicago Air, which offers 38 flights a day, reported that it owes money to airports and other creditors. Midstate Airlines of Stevens Point, Wis., acquired controlling interest in Chicago Air in October. Midstate officials said the firm is a shareholder and a creditor, not a liable party.
